Living Coconut products are packaged in glass. We believe in sustainability and plastic packaging is not an option for us! besides everything tastes better when stored in glass. Living coconut products are naturally fermented and inoculated with dairy free cultures creating a product free from residual sugars. No other sugars or artificial sweeteners are added to our products, resulting in a range of products which are pure and have the distinct sour tang that naturally produced yoghurts and kefir should have.
Separation, especially in our kefir range is completely normal! The kefir range is made with coconut milk which has a higher water content (which creates for some separation as there are no added emulsifiers or thickeners the kefir will separate slightly. A quick gentle shake of the bottle will reestablish a thick and creamy product ready for consumption.
During fermentation, carbon dioxide is produced, and this causes the slight fizz you may experience when consuming these products. Ensure to keep the product stored below 4 degrees, as it may slowly continue to ferment if left at a higher temperature due to the living cultures.
When these products are stored correctly, which includes keeping the product sealed and airtight, using clean utensils every time and keeping stored at the correct temperatures, these products have an extended shelf life due to the living cultures.
If all these factors are followed the products will last easily until consumed.
We only use the highest quality coconut milk and cream to produce our products. We don’t use additives, thickeners or stabilisers, unlike other brands which use these additives to create a thicker creamier product. Our range is pure, and the luscious creamy product is natural. A little separation may occur from this however, a quick mix will emulsify ready for consumption.
Lacto fermentation means the production and multiplication of lacto bacillus bacteria. We use a range of lacto cultures for our inoculation and then let the bacteria ferment and feed on the natural sugars to create the potent cultured coconut products available.
